Armenian MP: Azerbaijan consistently spurring tensions on border
Azerbaijan is consistently spurring tensions on the border with Armenia and Artsakh, pushing for escalation of the situation, Armenian MP Tigran Abrahamyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction states.
His comments came amid the increasing ceasefire violations by Baku reported by the Armenian and Artsakh military authorities on a daily basis.
“It remains to be seen what the Armenian authorities are doing to stop Azerbaijan's possible aggression or to respond to it adequately,” he wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
The deputy underscored that Azerbaijan attacked Armenia and Artsakh five times after the 44-day war in 2020.
“They were predictable in advance based on intelligence data and analysis of the situation, but the necessary diplomatic and military tools were not used to prevent them,” Abrahamyan claimed.
“The authorities pretend to be tough inside the country, but when it comes to dealing with external challenges, they pose themselves as a victim,” he added.
