Artsakh parliament welcomes French National Assembly resolution
Speaker of the Artsakh National Assembly Artur Tovmasyan has welcomed a resolution passed by the French National Assembly (the lower house of the parliament) on Wednesday in support for Armenia and calling for sanctions against Azerbaijan.
“We welcome the unanimity of all the political forces represented in the Lower House of the French Parliament around the current situation in Armenia and Artsakh and would like to express gratitude for the attention and concern that has been shown since the beginning of the 2020 autumn war,” he said in a statement on Friday.
“Azerbaijan poses a serious threat to the Armenian statehood, the daily border shootings do not “speak” about the so-called peace agenda. The adoption of the kind of resolution marks an important step also in terms of regional security, as Azerbaijan’s expansionist policy creates major challenges,” the speaker said.
