Expert: Authorities again successfully diverted people's attention from key issues
The current Armenian leadership has again successfully distracted the people’s attention from urgent issues, putting the spotlight on the New Year illuminations in the city, Turkey expert Varuzhan Geghamyan says.
“They again successfully diverted our attention and prevented outrage over two key issues: Lavrov's official statement about the treacherous step of the capitulant regarding Artsakh's status which was not refuted and the rejection of a parliament resolution on Artsakh by capitulators,” he wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday claimed that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan effectively recognized Azerbaijani sovereignty over Nagorno-Karabakh in a joint statement with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, French President Emmanuel Macron and European Council chief Charles Michel issued after their October 6 meeting in Prague.
“As long as they [the authorities] dictate the public agenda, we will be defeated,” Geghamyan said.
