Czech ambassador summoned by Georgian Foreign Ministry
Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Georgia, Petr Mikyska, has been summoned to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for explanations over his recent statement, Georgia's First Channel reported on Friday.
In particular, some media outlets published the ambassador’s comment, in which he stated that some goods coming to Georgia from the Czech Republic bypass the sanctions and proceed to Russia.
According to the Foreign Ministry, Deputy Minister Aleksandre Ghvtisiashvili introduced the Ambassador to the measures that Georgia carries out to prevent such facts, while the statement harms the relationship between the two countries and tarnishes Georgia’s reputation.
Petr Mikyska explained that his statement had been misinterpreted and was out of context.
