Armenia received Azerbaijan's peace proposals, senior MP says
Armenia and Azerbaijan may hold fresh talks on a bilateral peace treaty before the end of this year, Eduard Aghajanyan, an MP from Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party, said on Tuesday.
“A meeting between the leaders or the foreign ministers of the two countries by the year-end cannot be ruled out,” he told a press briefing.
Aghajanyan, who heads the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, also confirmed reports that Armenia had received Azerbaijan’s peace proposals in response to the ones put forward by Yerevan.
“Negotiations on these proposals are basically entering the third phase,” the MP said, adding they cannot be disclosed at this point.
“But yes, Armenia has received Azerbaijan’s proposals,” he said.
