Armenian parliament passes bills on universal income declaration, minimum wage rise
The Armenian National Assembly passed all bills on the agenda in the first or second readings at a regular session on Wednesday.
MPs from the ruling Civil Contract faction adopted in the first reading a government-drafted bill on universal declaration of income.
The new measure calls for the introduction of a system of universal income declaration in Armenia within the next three years. The bill was passed in a vote of 65 for and 5 against, with 22 abstentions.
Also, MPs approved amendments to the law on the minimum monthly wage and Armenia’s Labor Code to increase the minimum salary in the country from the current 68,000 drams to 75,000 drams.
After the vote, lawmakers started the second round of debates on the 2023 draft state budget.
