Artsakh remains in blockade amid ongoing Azerbaijani provocation – police
The sole road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia remains blocked on both sides, the police said on Tuesday.
In violation of the 9 November 2020 tripartite statement, a group of Azerbaijanis blocked the Stepanakert-Goris highway near Shushi on ostensibly environmental grounds on Monday morning.
“As a result of the fresh Azerbaijani provocation, the Artsakh Republic has been in a virtual blockade for a day now, with the rights of thousands of citizens violated,” the police said in a statement.
“Due to the situation, citizens traveling from Armenia to Artsakh spent the night in Goris. Some of them, including women and children, stayed overnight in the Lisagor community of the Shushi region,” it said.
