Artsakh official starts indefinite sit-in outside UN Office in Yerevan
An advisor to the Artsakh state minister, Artak Beglaryan, has announced an indefinite sit-in and the launch of a movement outside the UN Office in Yerevan following Azerbaijan’s blockade of the sole road connecting Artsakh to Armenia on Monday.
The Artsakh government reported late on Tuesday that Azerbaijan had also cut off the gas supply to the country.
“The UN agencies must condemn Azerbaijan’s genocidal policy and its blockade of the people of Artsakh,” he said in a statement.
“The UN Security Council should address the issue of ensuring the security of the Artsakh people by providing clear international guarantees.
“At least five permanent members of the UN Security Council (China, France, the Russian Federation, the UK and the U.S.) and the European Union should condemn Azerbaijan's actions and take practical measures to restrain it,” the official said.
Beglaryan urged all to join the protest.
