Moscow expects traffic to restore along Lachin corridor soon – Foreign Ministry
Russia is concerned about the Azerbaijani blockade of the Lachin corridor, the sole road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to the outside world, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.
At the same time, she said Moscow expects traffic to restore along the Lachin corridor in the near future.
“We are concerned about the blockade of the Lachin corridor,” Zakharova told a press briefing. “The Russian Defense Ministry and the Russian peacekeeping contingent have been actively working on de-escalation of the situation these days. We expect full-fledged transport communication to restore in the nearest future.”
The spokeswoman also dismissed criticism and provocations against the Russian peacekeeping troops in Nagorno-Karabakh as “unacceptable”.
