Artsakh-Armenia road remains blocked by Azerbaijan
The sole road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia and the outside world remained blocked by Azerbaijan as of 11am Friday, the Artsakh Interior Ministry said.
The ministry is on a high alert to properly ensure public order and security in the capital Stepanakert and the regions given the situation following the Azerbaijani blockade of Artsakh.
The blockade began on Monday morning, when a group of so-called Azerbaijani “eco activists” stopped traffic on the road, known as the Lachin corridor, citing “illegal” mining activity in the area. Later on Tuesday, Azerbaijan also cut off the gas supply to Artsakh, which was restored on Friday.
