Sati Spivakova urges action to stop Azerbaijan's blockade of Artsakh
A Russian actress and TV host of Armenian descent, Sati Spivakova (Satenik Sahakyants), the wife of famous Russian conductor Vladimir Spivakov, calls on the international community to take action to end the ongoing Azerbaijani blockade of the Lachin corridor connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia.
She shared on Instagram a photo of a lone tree alongside a road, writing: "Another provocation, another violation of my people's rights to life ... We are like this lonely tree in the fog amid deafening indifference ... Well, don't remain silent, act! It’s not enough for those who can make a difference to only "express concern" ... Although, no one will respond this time either.”
The blockade began on Monday morning, when a group of so-called Azerbaijani “eco activists” stopped traffic on the road, citing “illegal” mining activity in the area. Later on Tuesday, Azerbaijan also cut off the gas supply to Artsakh, which was restored on Friday.
