Artsakh-Armenia road remains blocked
The sole road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia and the outside world remained blocked by Azerbaijan as of late Friday afternoon, the Artsakh InfoCenter reported.
“The Stepanakert-Goris highway linking Artsakh to Armenia remains blocked by Azerbaijan as of 4:30pm,” it said.
The blockade began on Monday morning, when a group of so-called Azerbaijani “eco activists” stopped traffic on the road, citing “illegal” mining activity in the area. Later on Tuesday, Azerbaijan also cut off the gas supply to Artsakh, which was restored on Friday.
