USAID chief: Lachin Corridor must be re-opened immediately
USAID Administrator Samantha Power has called for the immediate reopening of the sole road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia and the outside world, known as the Lachin Corridor, which has been blocked by Azerbaijan since Monday.
In a social media post on Friday, she warned that the closure may cause "a significant humanitarian crisis".
“The Lachin Corridor must be re-opened immediately - the closure has the potential to cause a significant humanitarian crisis. This corridor is an essential route for the flow of much needed food and medical supplies that must be allowed to flow freely,” Power tweeted.
