Klaar: EU Monitoring Capacity didn't enter Lachin corridor
The European Union’s special representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar, has made clarifications over the video circulating about an EU Monitoring Capacity patrol observing the road leading to the Lachin corridor.
“There’s a video circulating about an EUMCAP patrol observing the road leading to the Lachin Corridor. The patrol was then at a checkpoint about 1,2km from the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. EUMCAP, in line with its mandate, operates exclusively on Armenian territory and did not enter the Corridor,” Klaar said in a tweet on Friday.
Azerbaijan has blocked the Lachin corridor, Artsakh’s only link to Armenia and the outside world, since Monday.
