UN Security Council to discuss situation in Artsakh
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) members will discuss the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) under "any other business," and at the request of France on Saturday morning, the Security Council Report (SCR) said in a tweet.
“No briefer is expected,” the SCR added.
Artak Beglaryan, an advisor to Artsakh’s state minister and former ombudsman who started an indefinite sit-in outside the UN Office in Yerevan on Wednesday, welcomed the discussion.
“I hope that the UN will pay closer attention to solving both short-term and long-term problems by fulfilling its commitments and applying all possible mechanisms," he wrote on Facebook.
At the same time, Beglaryan unveiled plans to continue the sit-in outside the UN Office as the Azerbaijani blockade of the sole road connecting Artsakh to Armenia and the outside world entered the sixth day on Saturday.
