Doctors to protest Artsakh blockade outside UN Office in Yerevan
Doctors will stage a protest against the ongoing Azerbaijani blockade of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) outside the UN Office in Yerevan on Saturday evening, Artak Beglaryan, an advisor to Artsakh’s state minister and an ex-ombudsman, revealed.
The protest is scheduled to start at 7pm, he said in a social media post.
The blockade began on Monday morning, when a group of so-called Azerbaijani “eco activists” stopped traffic on the Lachin corridor, Artsakh’s sole overland link to Armenia, citing “illegal” mining activity in the area. Later on Tuesday, Azerbaijan also cut off the gas supply to Artsakh, which was restored on Friday.
