Armenia's former intelligence chief arrested
Armenia’s former intelligence chief and ex-commander of the 2nd Army Corps, Major General Arayik Harutyunyan, has been arrested, Investigative Committee spokesman Gor Abrahamyan confirmed to Panorama.am on Saturday.
According to earlier reports from the Public TV Company, Harutyunyan has been charged with violations of the Armenian military's rules for combat duty during the Azerbaijani invasion of Armenia in May 2021.
As a result, Azerbaijani troops occupied a part of Armenia’s sovereign territory in Gegharkunik Province on May 12, the Investigative Committee said.
