Azerbaijani blockade of Artsakh enters eight day
Azerbaijan's blockade of the sole road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia and the outside world entered the eight day on Monday.
“1,100 people, including 270 minors, cannot return home,” the Artsakh InfoCenter said.
"Given the situation following the road closure, a 24/7 hotline has been launched to ensure prompt communication with the people. The hotline can be reached from Artsakh by calling 119 and from Armenia and abroad by calling +374-47-119-119,” it added.
The blockade began early on 12 December, when a group of so-called Azerbaijani “eco activists” stopped traffic on the road, known as the Lachin corridor, citing “illegal” mining activity in the area.
