Armenian security chief: Russia responsible for security along Lachin corridor
Russian peacekeepers are responsible for security along the Lachin corridor, Artsakh’s sole overland link to Armenia blocked by Azerbaijan since December 12, Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council Armen Grigoryan said on Tuesday.
“Under the November 9, 2020 statement, the Russian Federation is responsible for security along the Lachin corridor," he said, addressing the parliament.
Grigoryan claimed the government is working to resolve the issue and urged the parliamentary opposition to also make efforts so that Russia “fulfills its commitments and ensures uninterrupted and safe movement along the Lachin corridor.”
"We are also working with the Russian Federation to reopen the Lachin corridor as soon as possible," he noted.
He called for vigilance amid the Azerbaijani provocation campaign aimed at ethnic cleansing in Artsakh.
"The authorities are using all the tools at hand to resolve the crisis," Grigoryan claimed.
