Putin grants Ruben Vardanyan's request to renounce Russian citizenship
Russian President Vladimir Putin has granted the request of Artsakh’s State Minister Ruben Vardanyan to renounce his Russian citizenship, TASS reported on Thursday, citing the Russian leader’s decree.
Vardanyan accounted his decision to renounce his Russian citizenship and move to Nagorno-Karabakh in early September.
“This was a difficult but right decision," Vardanyan said at the time.
Later, Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan offered Vardanyan to become the country’s state minister. Vardanyan took office on November 4.
