Armenian MP: Azerbaijan clearing the way for fresh attack on Armenia
Azerbaijan is paving the way for renewed attack against Armenia, senior Armenian opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan said on Thursday, referring to the ongoing Azerbaijani blockade of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
Abrahamyan, who represents the opposition Pativ Unem bloc, insisted the current escalation of tensions around Artsakh does not only impact the Artsakh people.
“Azerbaijan is simply trying to get rid of the key "obstacle" – Artsakh, which is like a bone in Azerbaijan's throat given its resistance potential – from its path before attacking Armenia,” the MP wrote on Facebook.
“At this point, a battle is being fought in Artsakh directly or indirectly, and our possible failure will not only threaten the security of our compatriots, but will also open a new front against Armenia,” he said.
