11 children in intensive care in Artsakh hospital amid blockade
Scheduled surgeries remain suspended in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) hospitals to save medicine amid the ongoing Azerbaijani blockade of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia, the country’s Ministry of Health reported on Friday.
11 children are in the neonatal and resuscitation departments at the Arevik Medical Center. Among them, the 4-month-old baby, who was diagnosed with visceral leishmaniasis, remains in critical condition and is receiving appropriate treatment.
“7 patients, including 4 critically ill, are in the resuscitation unit at the Republican Medical Center. The doctors are doing the utmost to stabilize the condition of the patients,” the ministry said.
“The Artsakh Republic Ministry of Healthcare is taking all possible measures to properly overcome the situation in the aftermath of the blockade,” it added.
