Politician urges Armenian authorities to recognize Artsakh Republic
Political and public figure Tevan Poghosyan, the director of the Yerevan-based International Center for Human Development (ICHD), has called on the Armenian authorities to recognize the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic in an effort to put an end to the ongoing Azerbaijani blockade.
In a public post on Facebook on Friday, he called out the global community's indifference to the developments around Armenia and Artsakh.
"Artsakh has been under blockade for 264 hours now. The so-called international community again makes it clear that it doesn't care about the so-called democratic Armenia, but we persistently don't want to learn lessons from it,” Poghosyan wrote.
“No one needs words, no one understands silence ... do something, at least move to recognize the Republic of Artsakh, mix the cards, consciously change the negotiator ... subordinate individual interests to the collective for Armenia’s sake,” he said, adding the “rebirth should start from Artsakh.”
