Over 200 French scholars, cultural figures express solidarity with Artsakh
In the run-up to Christmas, more than 200 French scholars, writers, actors and other cultural figures have expressed solidarity with the Armenians of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in a statement published in the Le Figaro newspaper, the Armenian Embassy in France reported on Saturday.
They warned about a threat of ethnic cleansing in Artsakh amid the ongoing Azerbaijani blockade of the Lachin corridor, the sole road connecting Artsakh to Armenia and the outside world, and called for joint efforts to “save 120,000 Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh.”
The signatories include renowned actors Jean Reno, Pierre Richard, Carole Bouquet, Virginie Ledoyen, filmmakers Costa-Gavras, Claude Lelouch, writers Sylvain Tesson, Pascal Bruckner and many others.
