14 Armenian chess players compete at World Rapid and Blitz Championships
A total of 14 Armenian chess players are set to compete at the 2022 World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships which kicked off in Almaty, Kazakhstan on Sunday.
Armenia has 10 players in the men’s section, including Gabriel Sargissian, Robert Hovhannisyan, Zaven Andriasyan, Tigran Petrosyan, Hayk Martirosyan, Shant Sargsyan, Manuel Petrosyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, Tigran Harutyunyan and Mamikon Gharibyan.
The female Armenian contestants are Elina Danielyan, Lilit Mkrtchyan, Mariam Mkrtchyan and Susanna Gaboyan.
The World Championships run through until Friday, 30 December.
