Young Artsakh people stranded in Armenia to spend New Year in Yerablur
A group of young people from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), who have been stranded in Armenia due to the Azerbaijani blockade of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia, will spend New Year's Day in the Yerablur Military Pantheon in Yerevan.
In a video message posted by Artsakh Ombudsman Gegham Stepanyan on Facebook on Friday, they announced plans to start a silent march to Yerablur at 8pm December 31.
"For us, there are no holidays as long as the road to home remains closed," the young people say.
"New Year is a family holiday, while the thousands laid to rest in Yerablur are eternal members of our extended family,” they add.
Stepanyan, who has also stayed in Yerevan due to the Artsakh blockade, said he would join the march.
