Los Angeles mayor calls for end to Lachin Corridor blockade
Mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass calls for an end to Azerbaijan’s blockade of the Lachin Corridor, the sole road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia and the outside world.
“I stand with the Armenian community here in Los Angeles calling for an end to the blockade of the Lachin Corridor,” she said in a tweet on Wednesday.
“We must clearly demonstrate our commitment to freedom by helping the people of Artsakh. This is a crisis and will only get worse with inaction. Lives are at stake,” the mayor added.
For more than three weeks, large groups of Azerbaijanis posing as eco-activists have blocked the road to protest what they claim is illegal mining.
