Armenia’s Sisian to hold snap elections in March
Snap municipal elections will be held in Sisian, a community in Armenia’s Syunik Province, on 26 March.
The election date was set by the Central Election Commission at its meeting on Wednesday.
Applications for the registration of parties and blocs will be open from 9 February to 19 February.
None of the three political groups running in the 2021 local elections won over 50% of the votes to form a local government and elect a new community head.
The ruling Civil Contract party garnered 34.6% of the votes, followed by the Labor and Justice alliance with 22.7% and the Country of Living party with 19.5%.
