ICRC helps transfer two seriously ill Artsakh patients to Armenia
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has facilitated the transfer of two severely ill patients from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia amid the blockade imposed by Azerbaijan, the Artsakh Ministry of Health reported.
The patients diagnosed with brain tumor and ocular melanoma were taken to specialized hospitals in Armenia on Wednesday, escorted by an ICRC team, the ministry said in a statement.
For more than three weeks, large groups of Azerbaijanis posing as eco-activists have blocked the Lachin corridor, the sole road connecting Artsakh to Armenia and the outside world, to protest what they claim is illegal mining.
