Famous Armenian soprano Hasmik Papian has called on international organizations to make efforts to end the Azerbaijani blockade of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and "prevent another Armenian Genocide".

“We, the Armenians from Artsakh, demand to unblock the only road of LIFE that connects Armenia with Artsakh. We announce about the crime against humanity, that is happening right now!” she said in a message on Saturday.

“It is already one month our families are forced to stay apart from our beloved ones. It is already one month Artsakh is under blockade, the Road of Life is blocked by Azerbaijan.

“People in Artsakh - our relatives, our friends are starving from hunger and having lack of vital supplies and medicine. We do not know how long will they be able to stand strong. But we still will stand for our right to live!

“We demand the response of the international community, which is able to predetermine the situation and prevent another Armenian Genocide,” the singer said.

She urges the Armenian government, Human Rights Watch, Genocide Watch, United Nations, World Food Programme, UNICEF, Save the Children Armenia Country Office, other international institutions, as well as all those concerned about war crimes “not to let another Armenian Genocide happen”.

“Prevent the Genocide! Unblock the Road of Life! Recognize Artsakh!  It is the time to take the action for remedial secession,” Papian stated.
