Protest in support of Artsakh to be held in France
French Senator Valérie Boyer, the deputy chair of the France-Armenia Friendship Group, has announced a protest outside the French parliament on Tuesday evening to show support for Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) blocked by Azerbaijan for nearly one month.
“The Armenians, especially the 120,000 Armenians of Artsakh, who are victims of the brutal blockade imposed by Azerbaijan, count on our support,” she said in a tweet.
“So, let’s gather outside the National Assembly at 6:30pm January 10 for a protest,” the lawmaker said.
Large groups of Azerbaijanis posing as eco-activists have blocked the Lachin corridor, Artsakh’s sole land link with Armenia, since 12 December to protest what they claim is illegal mining.
