Pashinyan says will reject peace deal with Azerbaijan if it runs against Armenia's interests
Armenia is still awaiting a response from Azerbaijan regarding its proposals on a peace treaty, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a news conference in Yerevan on Tuesday.
"We have submitted our peace proposals to Azerbaijan, but have received no response yet," Pashinyan said. "I would like to reiterate that we are ready to sign the peace treaty and will do everything we can to the end."
Meanwhile, the premier stressed he would reject a peace agreement running against Armenia’s national interests.
He stated no peace document had been tabled yet.
"However, it is not only about signing an agreement, but about its further implementation as well," Pashinyan said. "Today, we see that the agreements as of November 9 [2020] are essentially not implemented."
