Expert: Aliyev fears Armenia, Russia could seek revenge
Iran specialist Vardan Voskanyan, who heads the Chair of Iranian Studies at Yerevan State University (YSU), has reacted to the statements of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at a news conference on Tuesday.
In a public post on Facebook, the expert claimed Aliyev “has fears which are well reflected in the Azeri propaganda campaign.”
“The Baku barbaric regime leader fears Russia and Armenia could seek what he claims to be revenge,” Voskanyan said. “Also, he fears that even after the full recognition of the territorial integrity of the artificial entity called Azerbaijan, Armenia could organize various movements within the dictatorship to destroy it in alliance with Iran.”
“All these fears are quite justified, because the Baku dictator, also taking into account the high-quality Turkish and Israeli consultations, I think, is well aware of both external and internal challenges facing his dictatorship,” the expert stated.
