Azeri blockade of Artsakh is entire civilized world's problem, FM says
The Azerbaijani blockade of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) is a problem of the entire civilized world, Artsakh’s new Foreign Minister Sergey Ghazaryan told a teleconference between Stepanakert and Yerevan on Thursday.
Speaking about the Artsakh people stranded in Armenia due to the blockade, the minister said they are mainly accommodated in the town of Goris as well as in Yerevan. Active work is underway with the governmental task force to address their concerns regarding housing, food and medical services, he added.
Touching on the international reaction to the Artsakh blockade, Ghazaryan highlighted the December 20 emergency meeting of the UN Security Council where Azerbaijan was clearly urged to end the blockade. Similar calls were made by other international organizations as well, the FM said.
“The blockade of Artsakh is not only the Armenian people’s problem. This is the problem of the entire civilized world,” Ghazaryan stressed.
