ICRC helps transfer three more patients from Artsakh to Armenia
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has facilitated the transfer of three more severely ill patients from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia amid the ongoing Azerbaijani blockade, the Artsakh Ministry of Health reported.
The patients were taken to specialized medical centers in Armenia on Thursday, the ministry said in a statement.
Scheduled surgeries remain suspended in Artsakh’s hospitals due to the blockade of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia, known as the Lachin corridor, which started back on 12 December.
11 children are in neonatal and intensive care at the Arevik Medical Center.
8 patients, including 3 critically ill, are in intensive care at the Republican Medical Center.
The Red Cross has helped transfer a total of 19 patients from Artsakh to Armenia for treatment since the start of the blockade.
