Artsakh serviceman arrested on suspicion of treason
A serviceman of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Defense Army has been arrested on suspicion of high treason, the National Security Service (NSS) of Artsakh said.
In a statement on Friday, the NSS said the man, whose identity is not disclosed, was recruited by foreign intelligence agencies in July 2021 and was paid to pass military secrets to them.
He used various mobile applications to provide classified information to foreign agents, including data on his military unit, its arsenal, command staff and combat positions.
The suspect has been charged with treason and placed in pre-trial custody.
An investigation into the case is underway.
