Ruben Vardanyan: 120,000 people in Artsakh remain under inhuman blockade
120,000 Artsakh Armenians remain under an inhuman blockade imposed by Azerbaijan, Artsakh’s Minister of State Ruben Vardanyan said on Tuesday.
In a public post on Facebook, he noted that foreign nationals were also stranded in Artsakh due to Azerbaijan’s blockade of the Lachin corridor, the sole road connecting Artsakh to the outside world.
“Families, including those with children, had been stranded for more than a month. The Artsakh government and Russian peacekeepers had long been preparing and today arranged the return of some of them to their homeland,” Vardanyan wote.
“However, the inhumane blockade continues for 120,000 Artsakh citizens, including 30,000 children,” he stressed.
