Catholicos Karekin II offers condolences on deadly fire in military barracks
His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has expressed his condolences on the deadly fire in an Armenian military barracks that killed 15 troops and wounded several others last night.
“We were deeply saddened to learn that 15 servicemen were killed and three others were wounded in a fire that broke out in the barracks of an engineer and sapper company in a military unit,” he said in a message on Thursday.
“We express our condolences to the families of the victims and ask for the consolation and support of the Holy Spirit for their grieving hearts,” Karekin II said, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
“We pray for the Almighty Lord to keep our homeland peaceful and safe, protecting our people from such tragedies,” he added.
