Armenian MP: Azerbaijan's main expectations for Artsakh blockade not met
Azerbaijan's main expectations for the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) blockade have not been met, claims Armenian MP Tigran Abrahamyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction.
“Thus, Azerbaijan will either carry out tactical changes or will further intensify its actions,” he wrote on Facebook on Monday.
The MP states that the mechanisms of political propaganda used by Azerbaijan at the initial stage of the Artsakh siege “have lost steam, while no new mechanisms have been put in place yet.”
“Azerbaijan's political blitzkrieg has failed, and now it is now trying to change the rules of its game,” Abrahamyan said.
“This does not mean that everything will end soon and life will get back to normal, but the Artsakh people’s resistance and struggle have mixed up not only Azerbaijan's cards, but also those of international actors,” the deputy added.
Large groups of Azerbaijanis posing as eco-activists have blocked the Lachin corridor, the sole road linking Artsakh to Armenia, since 12 December to protest what they claim is illegal mining operation in Artsakh.
