'Victories will definitely come', opposition leader says on Armenian Army Day
Former MP Vahe Hakobyan, the leader of the opposition Resurgent Armenia Party, issued a message on Army Day celebrated om January 28. His full message is below.
"Dear compatriots,
Congratulations to everyone on Army Day!
The Armenian Army has passed a challenging way of formation. It has more than once proved itself strong and invincible, going through sufferings and ordeals.
The most challenging period for the Armenian military has been the years following 2018, from the targeted attacks by the Armenian authorities aimed at discrediting the army, the 44-day war in 2020 to the current uncertainty and instability. Despite the blows and irreparable losses, the Armenian Army has survived, remaining the guarantor of people’s security and the existence of the Republic of Armenia.
It's for three decades now that 28 January has had a special significance for the Armenian people. This day brings pride, strength and faith, a pledge to make the impossible possible and to forge new victories.
Today, in the face of ongoing defeats, it is hard to talk about new victories, but they will definitely come.
The Armenian Army represents the spirit of Armenian soldiers: invincible, strong and unshakable.
Glory and honor to our heroic army, eternal glory to all those who gave their lives for the homeland!"
