Armenian soldier arrested after fellow suffers critical gunshot injury
An Armenian soldier has been arrested for violation of gun safety rules which critically injured his fellow on Sunday, the Investigative Committee reported.
In a statement on Monday, the law enforcement agency said the victim suffered a gunshot injury to his head after the conscript soldier servicing at the same military unit, whose identity is not disclosed, released a gunshot from the victim’s AK-74 service rifle while unloading it at around 3pm.
The serviceman has been placed under arrest pending the outcome of a criminal probe into the incident under Article 532 of Armenia’s Criminal Code, which deals with grave violation of gun safety rules.
