Rep. Katie Porter condemns Azerbaijan's Artsakh blockade
U.S. Congresswoman Katie Porter has condemned Azerbaijan’s blockade of the Lachin corridor, the sole road linking Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia, urging the Biden administration to cut all military aid to Baku.
“We must hold Azerbaijan accountable for its aggression. I continue to call on the administration to take immediate steps to end this blockade,” she stated on the U.S. House floor on Thursday.
“We must end all U.S. military assistance to Azerbaijan. U.S. taxpayers shouldn't be subsidizing Azerbaijan's constant aggression against the Armenian people," Rep. Porter stressed.
Large groups of Azerbaijanis posing as eco-activists have blocked the Lachin corridor since 12 December to protest what they claim is illegal mining operation in Artsakh.
