Drivers warned over snow and ice in parts of Armenia
Some roads are closed or difficult to pass in Armenia as of Wednesday afternoon, the Rescue Service reports.
In particular, the roads linking the Amberd high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari in Aragatsotn Province are shut down.
Vardenyats Pass is difficult to pass for trucks (chains need to be applied).
Roads on the town of Chambarak and the Gyumri-Yerevan highway are partly icy.
Snowfall is reported in the towns of Ashtarak, Aparan and Jermuk, as well as the Ashotsk region.
Fog has taken over the town of Sevan and the Ashtarak region.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway connecting Armenia and Russia via Geogia is open to all traffic.
Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
