Rep. Pallone joins protest against Azerbaijan's Artsakh blockade
U.S. Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-N.J.) joined a demonstration against Azerbaijan’s ongoing blockade of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) at the Capitol on Thursday.
The protesters called for the U.S. to hold Azerbaijan accountable for the human rights abuses against the Artsakh people and urged support for a bipartisan resolution introduced in the House.
“Demonstrators were at the Capitol today opposing Azerbaijan's illegal and inhumane blockade of the Lachin Corridor,” he tweeted. “I proudly stood with them in calling for the United States to hold Aliyev accountable for his human rights abuses against the people of Artsakh.”
The Lachin Corridor, the only connection between Artsakh and Armenia, has remained blocked by Azerbaijan for nearly two months.
