Human rights activist slams pro-government MP’s Artsakh statement
Human rights activist Zhanna Alexanyan has denounced the latest statement of MP Gurgen Arsenyan from Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party regarding the people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
Speaking at parliamentary hearings on Azerbaijan’s blockade of the Lachin Corridor on Friday, the lawmaker said, “We cannot put the lives of three million Armenians at risk for the sake of 120,000 Armenians in Artsakh.”
“The statement made by Gurgen Arsenyan yesterday is immoral, especially for thousands of people, children and elderly who are under blockade, facing hunger and hardships,” Alexanyan wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
