Yerevan court again postpones hearing in Kocharyan's case
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction on Tuesday again postponed a hearing in the case involving Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan and former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan, who is currently an MP from the opposition Hayastan bloc.
Kocharyan could not appear in court due to poor health. His lawyer Hovhannes Khudoyan presented his client’s medical record to the court.
Presenting judge Anna Danibekyan decided to postpone the hearing to February 21, Kocharyan's legal team said.
Kocharyan is accused of receiving bribes from businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan while in power. He denies any wrongdoing, calling the charges politically motivated.
