EU envoy hails Armenian FM's 'historic' visit to Turkey
Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, has called Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan’s visit to Turkey “historic”.
“This is a historic visit following Armenia’s decision to support its neighbour in need,” he tweeted on Tuesday. “Hopefully a harbinger of developments to come in the Turkish-Armenian relationship.”
The Armenian foreign minister will today travel to Turkey where he is expected to meet with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman Vahan Hunanyan said.
"Minister Mirzoyan will meet with the Armenian team carrying out search and rescue operations in city of Adiyaman," he noted.
