Police in Yerevan detain over 20 residents of former Defense Ministry building
Police officers detained over two dozen people from the former building of the Armenian Defense Ministry in Kotayk Province on Thursday.
22 residents were taken into custody for defying police orders, the police press office told Panorama.am, adding they would be released within three hours after detention.
“Those disobeying the lawful demands of police officers face a fine of fifty times the minimum wage,” the police added.
Interior Ministry official Gevorg Azizyan claimed the residents of the former Defense Ministry building had been given until February 12 to vacate the building, but they had failed to comply with the order.
