Russia ready to host a meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani FMs – Foreign Ministry
Russia is ready to host a new meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers in Moscow, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday.
Speaking at a weekly briefing, she highlighted that both Armenian and Azerbaijani officials reaffirmed their interest in Russia's mediation in the talks on a peace treaty between the two countries at meetings with Russian Foreign Ministry special envoy Igor Khovayev in Yerevan and Baku.
Zakharova stressed that Russia was ready "to organize another meeting in Moscow between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan on this matter."
Yerevan refused to participate in a trilateral meeting of the Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani FMs slated for December 22 because of Azerbaijan’s ongoing blockade of the Lachin Corridor.
