Armenian, Latvian leaders meet in Munich
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Saturday met with Latvian President Egils Levits on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
The two leaders discussed the Armenian-Latvian relations and other issues of mutual interest, the prime minister’s office said in its readout of the meeting.
“Prime Minister Pashinyan spoke about the ongoing institutional reforms in Armenia and highlighted the EU’s continuous support for their effective implementation. He noted that the development and strengthening of democracy is of strategic importance for the Armenian government,” the statement said.
Pashinyan and Levits exchanged views on the ongoing developments in the South Caucasus region and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“Both sides attached importance to the EU civilian mission’s activities in Armenia. They expressed hope that the mission will contribute to peace and stability,” the PM’s office said.
